Internet Sites

A listing of free sites on the Internet that offer some form of citation searching.

  1. Google Scholar:
    Cited by x - This link will appear if an item within Google Scholar is cited by other sources within the database.
  2. ISIHighlyCited.com:
    This site aims to list information about the top 250 researchers in 21 fields. The selection of these researchers will be done by measuring the number of citations to their work during the years 1981-1999. This will include biographical information in addition to a full bibliography for each researcher.
  3. SCIRUS:
    Searches web pages and traditional publications in the sciences. Click here for details of what it indexes.
  4. SMEALSearch:
    SMEALSearch searches the Internet for business information in the form of academic articles, reports, white papers and a wide variety of published statistics and facts. It also performs a citation analysis of all the academic articles accessed and lists them in order of their citation rates in academic papers. Some articles will be available for download free of charge. However many items will have to be acquired through the library or purchased directly from their sources.
  5. Amazon Books:
    Amazon is making an effort to make books searchable. Some citation information might be gleaned from this source
